02/07/2010 - Recruitment: School Training Courses

We are pleased to present the new Management Development Programme for the 2010 to 2011 academic year following the success of the programme over the last two years.

The MDP programme features 2 recruitment focussed courses:

Recruitment and Selection (24/11/2010)

Delegates attend a half day course (9am - 1pm) and will gain a greater understanding of:

• Development of recruitment and selection processes that best meet the needs of the school
• Identifying roles that will offer the school a more flexible workforce
• The effective use of fixed term / temporary contracts within the constraints of current Employment Legislation

Safer Recruitment (Various Dates 2010 - 2011)

This full-day workshop (9am – 5pm) is aimed at staff who actively recruit within schools and will help you to:

• Identify the key features of recruitment that help deter or prevent the appointment of unsuitable people
• Consider policies and practices that minimise opportunities for abuse/offences or ensure its prompt reporting
• Review the recruitment and induction policies and practices of your service with a view to making them safer
• It is a statutory requirement to have a minimum of one person trained on Safer Recruitment per selection panel

This is a combined Child Protection and Human Resources focussed course using materials developed by the NCSL and CWDC
